The Christ University Entrance Test is the admission test that CHRIST (Deemed to be University) uses for its undergraduate programs, such as BBA, B.Com, BA, BSc and BCA. It is conducted by the university itself and leads to seats at its Bengaluru campuses (Central, Bannerghatta Road, Kengeri and Yeshwanthpur), Delhi NCR and Pune Lavasa.

The written test is only the first stage. Candidates who clear it go through a Skill Assessment, a short Micro Presentation and a Personal Interview, and the university also looks at your Class 10 and Class 12 record before making an offer. Students often call the written test “Christ CUET”, but it is separate from the national CUET UG run by NTA.

What is the Christ University Entrance Test?

CHRIST does not use a single national exam score for most undergraduate admissions. Instead it runs its own selection process, and the entrance test is the first filter. You apply online for a specific program and campus, choose a test session, and take the test.

Because the test is linked to the program you apply for, its sections change. Commerce and management programs usually include accounting and data questions. Programs in humanities, science or media may test different aptitudes. Read the selection process note on your program page before you start preparing.

Christ University eligibility

Christ University eligibility is set by program. The common rules are below.

You must have passed, or be appearing for, Class 12 or an equivalent exam (CBSE, ISC, state board PUC, NIOS, IB, IGCSE and others) from a recognized board.
Most programs ask for a minimum percentage in Class 12, often in the range of 50% to 60%. Some programs set subject requirements, such as Mathematics for BSc or BCA streams.
Students from international boards need their qualification to be recognized under AIU norms.
Students appearing for Class 12 get a provisional offer that becomes final only after they submit results meeting the criteria.

For BBA and other commerce-oriented programs, recent cycles used about 120 multiple-choice questions across six areas. Other programs use a shorter or different mix. Treat the table below as a guide to a typical commerce paper, not a fixed pattern for every program.

Christ University marking scheme

Recent BBA papers were reported to award +1 for each correct answer and deduct 0.25 for each wrong answer, with no penalty for leaving a question blank. Calculators were not allowed. Because the marking can differ by program and year, check the instructions on your admit card before test day.

Christ University selection process

If you clear the entrance test, you are called for the next stages, usually held in person at the campus you applied to.

Skill Assessment: a short written task on a given topic, which tests how clearly you express ideas.
Micro Presentation: a spoken response of about 90 seconds on a topic given to you on the spot.
Personal Interview: a short interview, around 10 minutes, about your interests, academic record and choice of program.
Academic record: your Class 10 and Class 12 performance is also considered.
Results are usually published on the application portal within a few days of the selection rounds, and selected candidates must pay the fee by the stated deadline.

Christ University entrance exam syllabus

The university does not publish a detailed syllabus for most programs. Based on past papers, prepare these areas: English grammar and comprehension; logical reasoning (series, coding, arrangements, syllogisms); arithmetic and basic algebra; reading bar charts, pie charts and tables; current affairs and general knowledge; and, for commerce programs, basic accounting terms, journal entries and simple financial statements.

How to prepare for the Christ University Entrance Test

Christ’s process rewards both accuracy on the written test and how well you communicate in person. Split your time between the two.

Because of negative marking in recent papers, do not guess blindly. Answer a question when you can remove at least two options.
Practice mental arithmetic, since calculators are not allowed. Data interpretation questions depend on quick percentages and ratios.
For commerce programs, revise Class 11 accountancy basics: the accounting equation, debit and credit rules, and trial balance.
