UP B.Ed JEE, the Uttar Pradesh B.Ed Joint Entrance Examination, is a state-level entrance test for admission to the two-year B.Ed program in universities and colleges across Uttar Pradesh. What is UP B.Ed JEE?

UP B.Ed JEE is the common entrance for B.Ed seats in state universities, government and aided colleges, and self-financed colleges affiliated to universities across Uttar Pradesh. A B.Ed is required for teaching in secondary schools and for many teacher eligibility tests.

Because the conducting university changes, the official website also changes from year to year. Always check which university is running the current cycle before you apply.

UP B.Ed JEE eligibility

A bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, BCom and others listed) with at least 50 percent marks, or a master’s degree with the same minimum. Recent bulletins give reserved categories a relaxation to 45 percent.
Engineering or technology graduates usually need a higher minimum, often 55 percent, with Science or Mathematics as specified.
BSc Agriculture graduates can apply and choose the Agriculture stream in Paper II.
Final-year students can usually apply provisionally.
Domicile, reservation and other admission rules follow UP government norms and the bulletin for that year.

UP B.Ed JEE exam pattern

There are two papers, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each has 100 multiple-choice questions for 200 marks and lasts 3 hours. In Paper II, you choose one subject-ability stream based on your graduation background.

UP B.Ed JEE marking scheme

Each correct answer carries 2 marks. In the 2026 cycle there was no negative marking, so a wrong answer simply scored zero. Some older bulletins used a deduction for wrong answers, so read the marking rule in the current bulletin before deciding how much to guess.

UP B.Ed JEE syllabus

General Knowledge: history, geography, polity, economy, science, current affairs and static GK, with some focus on Uttar Pradesh.
Language: Hindi or English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and usage.
General Aptitude: reasoning, teaching aptitude and basic numerical ability.
Subject Ability: graduation-level concepts in your chosen stream, Arts, Science, Commerce or Agriculture.

UP B.Ed JEE result and counseling

The conducting university releases the answer key, takes objections and then publishes the result with ranks, usually a few weeks after the exam. Counseling is held online by the same university in several rounds. You register, pay the counseling fee, fill in college choices and lock them. Seats are allotted by rank, category and preference, and you then report to the college for document verification and admission.

Government and aided colleges generally fill up first, so a good rank gives you a wider choice of colleges and lower fees.

How to prepare for UP B.Ed JEE

Each paper gives you 3 hours for 100 questions, so time is rarely the problem. Accuracy and broad coverage matter more. General Knowledge and General Aptitude carry half of the marks and reward steady practice.

Solve past UP B.Ed JEE papers from several years. GK and aptitude questions follow a clear pattern.
Revise NCERT History, Geography, Polity and Science books from Class 6 to 10 for GK, and add UP-specific facts.
Pick the language you are strongest in for Paper I and practice grammar and comprehension daily.
For General Aptitude, practice reasoning puzzles and read basic teaching aptitude material.
For Subject Ability, revise core graduation topics of your stream rather than advanced details.
