TG EAPCET (Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) is the state entrance exam conducted by JNTU Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). It leads to engineering, pharmacy, agriculture and allied admissions in Telangana. Many students still know it by its older names, TS EAMCET and TS EAPCET.

The test is computer-based, with 160 questions for 160 marks in 3 hours, and no negative marking. In recent cycles, ranks have been based entirely on normalized EAPCET marks, with Intermediate marks used only for eligibility.

What is TG EAPCET?

TG EAPCET is how Telangana fills convener-quota seats in its engineering, pharmacy and agriculture colleges. It has two streams. The Engineering stream covers B.E., B.Tech, B.Pharm and some related programs. The Agriculture and Pharmacy stream covers B.Pharm, Pharm.D, agriculture, horticulture, veterinary and allied courses.

The Agriculture and Pharmacy stream is usually held first, followed by the Engineering stream, with several sessions each day.

TG EAPCET eligibility

The rules below reflect the recent notification. Always confirm in the current one.

• Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent passed, or appearing in the final year.
• Engineering: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects. Agriculture and Pharmacy: Biology or Botany and Zoology, Physics and Chemistry, as specified per course.
• At least 45% in the group subjects for general candidates (40% for reserved categories) for admission to engineering courses.
• Minimum age of 16 years by the end of the admission year for most courses, with no upper limit for engineering.
• Local and non-local status rules decide your quota. These rules have been revised in recent years, so read the notification carefully.

TG EAPCET exam pattern

Each stream has 160 multiple-choice questions for 160 marks in 3 hours. Each question has four options. The paper appears on screen in English with Telugu or Urdu, based on the medium you choose.

TG EAPCET marking scheme and rank

TG EAPCET scoring is simple. Ranking works a little differently from the Andhra Pradesh exam.

• Correct answer: +1 mark.
• No negative marking.
• Marks from different sessions are normalized to make them comparable.
• In recent cycles, ranks have been based 100% on normalized EAPCET marks. Intermediate marks decide eligibility, not rank.
• Qualifying marks: 25% of the maximum marks. This has not applied to SC and ST candidates.

TG EAPCET syllabus

The syllabus is based on the first and second year Intermediate curriculum of the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education.

• Mathematics: functions, matrices, vectors, trigonometry, complex numbers, De Moivre’s theorem, quadratic expressions, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, probability, coordinate geometry, 3D geometry, differentiation, integration and differential equations.
• Physics: physical world, units, motion, laws of motion, work and energy, rotational motion, gravitation, mechanical and thermal properties, thermodynamics, oscillations and waves, ray and wave optics, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, AC, modern physics and semiconductors.
• Chemistry: atomic structure, periodic table, bonding, states of matter, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, equilibrium, solutions, electrochemistry, kinetics, surface chemistry, block elements, and organic chemistry through polymers and biomolecules.
• Biology: botany (plant diversity, structural organization, cell biology, plant physiology, genetics, biotechnology, ecology) and zoology (animal diversity, human anatomy and physiology, reproduction, genetics, evolution, applied biology).

TG EAPCET result and counseling

JNTUH releases preliminary answer keys and response sheets, invites objections, and then publishes results with rank cards. Because Intermediate marks affect eligibility, ranks may be withheld until your Intermediate result is confirmed.

Engineering counseling is conducted online by the Telangana technical education department in phases: registration, certificate verification, web options and seat allotment. Colleges accepting TG EAPCET ranks include JNTUH, Osmania University and Kakatiya University colleges, and private engineering colleges across Telangana.

How to prepare for TG EAPCET

Since rank depends only on the entrance score, every mark in this 160-mark paper counts directly. Mathematics (or Biology) is half the paper.

• Use Telugu Academy Intermediate textbooks as your base. TG EAPCET questions often follow their examples closely.
• Spend about half your study time on Mathematics, especially calculus, vectors, coordinate geometry and algebra.
• Attempt every question. With no negative marking, a blank is a lost chance.
• Practice for speed. 160 questions in 180 minutes leaves little room for long working.
• Revise formulas and reactions daily in the final month. Chemistry and Physics questions often test direct recall.
• Solve previous years’ papers and take CBT-style mock tests. You can log each mock and chapter progress in Kosuki to see what is improving.

How to apply for TG EAPCET

1. Visit the official TG EAPCET website and read the notification.
2. Pay the registration fee online.
3. Fill in the application with your Intermediate details, category and local status.
4. Upload your photo and signature and choose test center preferences.
5. Use the correction window, if needed, to fix errors.
6. Download your hall ticket before the exam.
